Dry mouth is the most common side effect and the one which usually stays the longest. We recommend to use common-sense measures such as drinking lots of water and chewing sugar-free gum.
Sleeplessness is another very common side effect. Usually this occurs in the first week of phentermine use, presenting in a form of having a hard time falling asleep, waking up at night or waking up early in the morning. A minority of the patients experience sleeplessness for a longer period of time, such as two to four weeks.
Constipations occurs somewhere frequently and stays for a long duration of phentermine use. In this cases it is recommended to drink more water and use a correct diet to maintain healthy metabolism.
Restlessness, anxiety, irritability are sometimes common in the first few days of a new patient starting phentermine. However these side effects usually fade away throughout the first week to two.
It is important to remember that your organism is slowly developing tolerance towards the new drug and will fight through most of the side effects after the first week. However, it is also important to know the long-term side effects that might come after using the drug for a long period of time.
Phentermine Long-use Side Effects
A large number of patients experiences common side effects after using the drug longer than 3 months.
High blood pressure is commonly known side effect usually occurs after 4 months of use. It is recommended then to gradually stop using Phentermine on daily basis and quit for a few months break until the next use.
Low effectiveness of the drug starts showing itself as the tolerance to the appetite suppressant grows over time. Each body builds up the tolerance over a different period of time, usually the degradation in effect starts showing between 3rd and the 6th months depending on the patients physical health and immune system structure.
